Therapy for Attachment & Relationship Issues

You don’t have to choose between being loved and being yourself

You told yourself the next relationship would be different.

But somehow, you end up in a familiar place: overexplaining, second-guessing yourself, accepting less than you need, or working harder to get back to how good things felt in the beginning.

You learned what love required of you and adapted.

Maybe early on you knew that love meant being helpful, easy, successful, or responsible. Maybe the pattern started later, after a relationship left you questioning your judgment. Or maybe you have no idea where it started. You just know you’re tired of repeating it.

Now you:

  • Focus on someone’s potential instead of their actions

  • Take responsibility for problems you didn’t create

  • Work harder every time the other person gives less

  • Question whether your needs and reactions are reasonable

  • Stay because leaving feels harder than continuing to hope

  • Pull away from healthy people because it feels unfamiliar

  • Leave before they can leave you

Stop letting the same relationship show up with a different face.

How I help:

Create relationships that actually feel good.

Not perfect. Not conflict-free. Just relationships where you can be honest, have needs, set limits, and still feel connected.

I help identify the relationship loops keeping you stuck, and we use our sessions as a safe practice ground to try out new behaviors. Together, we work to understand fears and heal old wounds so you can communicate clearly, set healthy boundaries, and build genuinely secure relationships.

Attachment & Relationship Therapy FAQS

Do I need to know my attachment style?

1

No. Attachment styles can sometimes offer useful language, but you do not need to label yourself to start therapy. We can begin with what happens in your relationships, what feels difficult, and what you want to change.

What if I felt loved as a child?

2

Attachment difficulties do not always come from an childhood you would call traumatic. They can also develop when emotional support, consistency, protection, affection, or room for your needs was limited. We can take your experiences seriously without exaggerating them or asking you to view your family in one particular way.

Does attachment-focused therapy blame parents?

3

No. Understanding how your early environment affected you is different from reducing your family to villains or assigning all responsibility to one person. The focus is on making sense of what you learned, how it affects you now, and what would help you have more choice.

Can this help if I am not currently in a romantic relationship?

4

Yes. Attachment responses can show up with family, friends, coworkers, therapists, and in the relationship you have with yourself. You do not need to be partnered to work on trust, intimacy, boundaries, or fear of rejection.

Do you provide couples therapy?

5

No. I provide individual therapy for adults. We can work on your relationship experiences, choices, boundaries, and responses while keeping the focus on what you need.
