Therapy That’s Real, Grounded, & Designed For You.
TANA NOONAN, MA, LMFT
I KNOW
You’re smart, capable, and driven—But you’re tired of just pushing through life.
Hey there, I’M Tana
I believe people are already whole; they’re just burdened by experiences that taught them they weren't.
MY JOB ISN’T to “fix” you. It’s to create enough safety for you to find your way back to yourself.
I'm a therapist, a wife, a mom, and someone who's done enough of my own work to know that healing doesn't happen on a fixed timeline, and it definitely doesn't happen when you don’t feel seen, heard, and accepted.
I've worked in public mental health, detention settings, crisis response, inpatient treatment, and with survivors of violent crime and trafficking. Those years taught me two things: people are incredibly resilient, and the systems designed to help them are often too limited to do the job well.
I saw how trauma doesn't just live in your memories; it shows up in your relationships, your sense of self, your body, your whole worldview. And I knew I wanted to help people heal at that level. But I couldn't do that in settings where "stabilization" meant getting people functional enough to be discharged, rather than actually addressing what was driving the crisis in the first place.
So in 2019, I started my private practice. I wanted to create a space where people could go deep, move at their own pace, and do the kind of work that actually sticks; not just symptom management.
Who I work with:
Complex trauma survivors. High Performers. Neurodivergent people who've been misunderstood or pathologized by other therapists. Anyone whose system is complicated enough that traditional approaches haven't worked or have made things worse.
I work with people who need a therapist who won't be scared off by their intensity, won't rush them toward "progress," and won't mistake compliance for healing.
How I work
I'm trained in IFS, EMDR, somatic therapy, and DBT, but I don't just rigidly follow protocols. I follow you. I trust that your system knows what it needs.
I'm direct. I won't sugarcoat things, but I also won't judge you. I can sit with not knowing, with silence, with messiness.
I don't measure progress by traditional milestones. I measure it by whether you feel more like yourself, safer in your body, clearer about what you need, and more able to make real choices instead of just reacting.
I have ADHD myself, so I get what it's like when your brain doesn't work the way therapy assumes it should. We move at the pace your system needs, not the pace insurance companies or productivity culture says you should.
If that sounds like what you're looking for, let's talk.
Find The Support That’s Right For You.
You’ve already done the hard part. Realizing something needs to change. I’ll help with the next steps.
Working with me is…
A space where you can slow down, tune in, and be fully human.
Collaborative and focused—we’ll get curious together and move toward what matters to you.
Rooted in compassion, but I’m not afraid to gently challenge patterns that keep you stuck.
Trauma-aware, affirming, and centered on creating lasting, meaningful change.
Working with me is not…
A place where you have to hide parts of yourself to be accepted.
Endless venting with no direction, or rigid agendas with no room to breathe.
About perfection, performance, or doing things “the right way.”
A quick fix or slapping a band-aid on your emotions.
professional background:
-
I see you as a whole person—mind, body, and spirit. There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, so I draw on a range of evidence-based methods to create a personalized plan. Below is a quick look at some of my key approaches.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT is a values-based therapy that empowers you to relate differently to uncomfortable thoughts and emotions—rather than trying to eliminate them. We’ll focus on psychological flexibility, so you can adapt to challenges while staying true to what matters most to you.
Attachment Theory
Our earliest relationships shape how we connect with others. Exploring your attachment style can reveal patterns in how you interact and feel about yourself. By understanding these roots, we’ll foster healthier, more fulfilling bonds in the present.
EMDR is powerful for processing traumatic memories. Attachment-Focused EMDR zeroes in on how early relationship experiences might still be affecting you. This helps reprocess past attachment injuries, building self-trust and emotional security.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
DBT provides practical skills for regulating emotions, navigating interpersonal conflicts, and staying grounded in the moment. It balances acceptance (your feelings are valid) with change (you can learn healthier ways to cope).
For a more focused, accelerated approach, EMDR Intensives offer extended sessions—sometimes over consecutive days—to dive deeper into trauma processing. Ideal if you want to address specific issues quickly or feel you’re moving slowly in weekly therapy.
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP is a highly effective method for OCD and anxiety-related disorders. By gradually facing what triggers you, while resisting compulsive or avoidant behaviors, you can break free from the anxiety cycle and reclaim control in your daily life.
Polyvagal Theory
Polyvagal Theory helps us understand how your nervous system influences feelings of safety, connection, or threat. By learning to recognize and regulate these bodily responses, you’ll experience greater calm and improved social engagement.
Somatic Experiencing is a gentle, body-centered approach that acknowledges how trauma and stress can get “stuck” in the nervous system. We’ll focus on physical sensations to release tension and restore a sense of grounding—often without re-telling every painful detail.
Parts Work / IFS-Informed Therapy
Internal Family Systems (IFS) sees your psyche as a “family” of parts, each with its own viewpoint and role. This approach nurtures understanding and compassion for even the most challenging “parts” of you, leading to healing and wholeness.
An Integrative and Adaptive Approach
I don’t limit us to a single framework. Instead, we’ll combine these methods in a way that suits your specific needs—addressing emotional, cognitive, and somatic layers of your experience. Your journey is unique; your therapy should be, too.
